Areva unit unveils used nuclear fuel storage and transport systems

Areva TN introduced two used nuclear fuel storage and transport solutions to the U.S. market.
The NUHOMS 32PTH2 dry shielded canister features a newly developed transportable canister designed to accommodate up to 32 intact or 16 damaged pressurized water used fuel assemblies. The company also introduced the MP197HB transport cask, which is the first and only transport cask licensed in the U.S. to transport high burnup used fuel for offsite storage.
