Siemens to deliver, maintain gas-fired power plant equipment

Siemens (NYSE: SI) will supply and service equipment for a planned 675-MW natural gas-fired power plant in New York.

Siemens will deliver two SGT6-5000F gas turbines, one SST-5000 steam turbine and three SGen-1000A generators for the CPV Valley Energy Center. Siemens will manufacture the gas equipment at its facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. The company will also provide long-term service for the major components, including parts, outage services, program management, engineering support and diagnostic monitoring.

Siemens’ Financial Services unit has committed $80 million as a construction and term loan for the power plant, which is expected to come online in 2017.
