Pattern Energy buys 33% interest in Ontario wind project

Pattern Energy Group Inc. (Nasdaq: PEGI) closed on its one-third acquisition in the 270-MW K2 Wind Power Facility in Ontario from Pattern Energy Group LP.
Pattern Energy will hold a 33 percent stake in the wind project, which is co-owned by Samsung Renewable Energy Inc. and Capital Power LP.
K2 Wind consists of 140 Siemens (NYSE: SI) 2.3 MW turbines and has a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO).
