Nuclear manufacturing and maintenance facility officially opens

Officials marked the opening of a nuclear manufacturing and maintenance facility in Pennsylvania.
Representatives from Areva, Custom Nuclear Fabrication (CNF), FirstEnergy (NYSE: FE) and the state Department of Community and Economic Development held a ribbon cutting event for the facility. Areva plans to work with CNF to manufacture high-performance used nuclear fuel storage canisters at the facility, where CNF has more than 200,000 square feet of fabrication space alongside FirstEnergy’s new central machine shop.
