Austria will officially file nuclear project subsidy complaint

The Austrian government said it would officially file a legal complaint against state subsidies for a planned nuclear power project in the UK.

Austria said in The Guardian it would file the complaint Monday in Brussels against the European Commission and £16 billion ($25.2 billion) in subsidies the commission approved for EDF Energy to build two nuclear reactors at the Hinkley Point C nuclear power project. Austria said it would sue in order to reverse the decision and scare off potential investors.
