Advanced Microgrid Solutions, Shell Energy North America sign MOU for battery storage project

Advanced Microgrid Solutions (AMS) signed of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Shell Energy North America (Shell Energy) to install up to 20-MW of battery storage at Shell Energy commercial, industrial and utility customer sites throughout California.

AMS will design, finance, build and operate the projects; Shell Energy will have dispatch rights on capacity for planning and market operations.

Recently, AMS entered into an agreement with Tesla for a 500MW-hour storage deal; and, in November 2014, signed a contract with Southern California Edison (SCE) to build 50-MWs of storage in buildings to provide grid support. AMS' first 10-MW Hybrid-Electric Building Project will be installed in Irvine, California in 2016.
