 China breaks ground on pilot nuclear power plant

China began construction on a pilot nuclear power project using a domestically designed nuclear reactor.
 
The Hualong One reactor was jointly designed by China General Nuclear Power Group and China National Nuclear Corp. In November 2014, the National Energy Administration approved the construction of two Hualong One reactors in Fuqing, Fujian Province, according to Global Post. The State Council approved construction in April.
