Areva TN was awarded a contract by Exelon Nuclear (NYSE: EXC) to supply used fuel storage modules for the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station in New York.

Beginning in mid-2015, the Areva TN team and local labor will build the Nuhoms horizontal storage modules onsite to reduce the cost of transporting the materials. The modules will join an existing 40 units built at Nine Mile Point in 2011.

The Nuhoms HSM-H above ground system offers high seismic resistance through thick reinforced concrete components, a low profile and side-by-side rectangular modules.
