Toshiba Corp. received an order to supply two sets of steam turbine and generators (STG) for a 925-MW combined-cycle natural gas-fired power project in Mexico.
Toshiba will start delivery of the parts to the Norte III power project site in August 2016, with the plant scheduled to come online in August 2017. Toshiba will provide two sets of 175-MW STG for the plant where the steam turbine is powered by the steam from the gas turbine.
Abengoa will own the Norte III site and is also the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor. The company was also EPC on a similar project at the Centro Morelos Combined Cycle Power Plant in 2013 that also used Toshiba’s STG technology.
