Siemens to supply wind turbines to Ontario project

Siemens (NYSE: SI) received an order to supply, install and commission 40 of its wind turbines for a power project near Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Siemens will supply 40 SWT-3.2-113 direct drive wind turbines to Grand Bend Wind Limited Partnership for the 100-MW Grand Bend wind energy project near Toronto. All 120 of the 55-meter-long blades will be manufactured at the Siemens plant in Ontario. Construction is underway, with commercial operation scheduled for the first half of 2016. Siemens will also provide service and maintenance of the wind turbines over a 10-year period.
