RET Capital acquires Ontario solar power plant

RET Capital buys Ontario solar power plant CityLights Canadian Solar

Renewable Energy Trust Capital Inc. (RET Capital) acquired a 14.1-MW solar power plant in Ontario from Canadian Solar Inc. (Nasdaq: CSIQ).

Power from the CityLights plant is being sold to the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) under a 20-year feed-in tariff. Power from two other projects – DiscoveryLight and FotoLight – is being sold under similar PPAs.

Canadian Solar provided turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction services, and will continue to operate and maintain the plant. RET Capital now owns three solar power plants built by Canadian Solar across Ontario, totaling 40 MW DC of generating capacity.
