Nuclear plant regulators to discuss Lynchburg review

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a public hearing later this month to discuss the results of a safety performance review at the Babcock & Wilcox (NYSE: BWC) nuclear fuel fabrication plant.

The meeting is scheduled for April 16 at Lynchburg City Hall.

The NRC says its staff assessed the plant from January 2013 through all of 2014 for its safety operations, radiological controls, facility support and special topics. The review found no program areas in need of improvement, and B&W conducted safe and secure activities.
