 NRC staff set Q&A on Surry nuclear power plant for April 28

SURRY, Va. (AP) - Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff is heading to Virginia to discuss the NRC's assessment of the twin-reactor nuclear power plant in Surry.

The NRC has scheduled an open house for April 28 to answer questions and to provide other assistance on the plant operated by Dominion Virginia Power (NYSE: D).

The NRC has concluded that Surry Units 1 and 2 operated safely in 2014.

Route inspections are carried out by NRC on-site inspectors and by specialists from the commission's Atlanta office.

The NRC open house will be held at the Surry Government Center.
