NRC holding public meeting on Duke's Robinson nuclear plant

HARTSVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Federal regulators are holding a public meeting to discuss operations at a South Carolina nuclear plant.

Officials from the federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission hold an open house at the Hartsville Public Library on Wednesday. They will be talking about performance at Duke Energy's (NYSE: DUK) H.B. Robinson plant.

The agency says officials will be on hand to answer questions about the plant's safety performance as well as oversight and inspection.

Regulators say that the one nuclear unit at Robinson operated safely during 2014, and the plant will continue to receive the detailed inspections conducted at all nuclear power plants.
