Dominion acquires 20-MW solar power project

Dominion buys solar power project in Georgia

Dominion (NYSE: D) acquired a 20-MW solar power plant in Georgia from HelioSage Energy.

The Richland Solar Center has a 20-year power purchase agreement and interconnection agreements with Georgia Power, a subsidiary of Southern Co. (NYSE: SO). The project is expected to begin service in 2015.

Dominion has contracted 364 MW of solar that are either in operation or under development in California, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Tennessee and Utah. The company plans to develop up to 400 MW of solar generation in Virginia by 2020.
