Coal-to-gas conversion completed Celanese Corporation

A coal-to-gas power plant conversion was completed at a plant in Virginia.

Celanese Corp. (NYSE: CE) said it completed the $150 million conversion of coal-fired boilers at the Narrows, Virginia, facility to natural gas. The plant has been in operation for 75 years.

The boiler equipment conversion provided more than 300 jobs in the region as well as the continued support of more than 1,000 existing jobs. The plant produces cellulose acetate tow, a product used for filtration applications.
