 Westinghouse, German companies to offer nuclear decommissioning services

Westinghouse Electric Co. signed an agreement with HOCHTIEF team to offer integrated decommissioning, decontamination and remediation (DD&R) services for nuclear power plants in Germany.
 
Westinghouse brings its safety-focused nuclear expertise and experience in decommissioning, decontamination, remediation, segmentation and waste handling. HOCHTIEF Infrastructure and HOCHTIEF Engineering offer knowledge in licensing, civil engineering and construction of interim storage.
 
Eight reactors were shut down in Germany in March 2011, and 17 are planned to shut down by 2022.
