Santa Fe County commission OKs applications for solar sites

SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Santa Fe County will be getting two solar installations for electricity generation.

The county commissioners on Tuesday approved applications by PNM (NYSE: PNM) for solar energy facilities that will feature long rows of panels that will track the sun's movement from east to west.

One of the sites is located south of the New Mexico National Guard facility off Interstate 25's east frontage road. The other is located north of New Mexico 599 off Caja Del Rio Road.

Each will have tens of thousands of panels.

Albuquerque-based PNM serves approximately 500,000 customers around New Mexico.
