 Power plant emissions control developer signs contracts in U.S. & China

Fuel Tech Inc. (Nasdaq: FTEK) received $4.8 million worth of air emission control projects in the U.S. and China.

The first U.S. order is for a NOxOUT selective non-catalytic reduction system for a coal-fired boiler at an unnamed power plant in the Western U.S. to meet emission requirements under the Clean Air Act Regional Haze program. Delivery of the system is scheduled for the second quarter of 2016. The second U.S. order is for an electrostatic precipitator (ESP) retrofit on an industrial boiler in the Southeast where the scope includes ESP upgrades and refurbishment. The turnkey project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2015. There were also several contracts for engineering and modeling studies, along with orders fir SNCR and SCR optimization services.

In China, an order was received for ULTRA systems to be installed at several municipal solid waste units being retrofitted with NOx reduction technology.
