 NV Energy seeks RFPs for additional planning capacity in Nevada

NV Energy (NYSE: NVE) is seeking proposals for an additional 54-MW of company-owned planning capacity in Nevada, as the company retires 812-MW of coal-fired generation by 2019, to meet its Emissions Reduction and Capacity Replacement plan.

The utility’s RFPs include:

- Construction of a 54-MW to 68-MW gas-fired generating unit on a site identified by the company;

- A build-transfer option for a 54-MW to 68-MW gas-fired generating unit at a location provided by the bidder;

- A build-transfer option for a 140-MW single-axis tracking solar photovoltaic (PV) facility at a location provided by the bidder; and

- Alternative proposals that would allow the company to acquire or partner to construct a renewable energy resource that would satisfy the remaining 54-MW of planning capacity.

The deadline to submit a bid is May 29, 2015.
