Areva to build nuclear replacement reactor vessel head

Areva design, build nuclear replacement reactor vessel head

Areva will fabricate and deliver a replacement reactor vessel head to an unnamed U.S. power utility under a multi-million dollar contract.

The equipment will be delivered to the U.S. in spring 2018. It will be designed and manufactured by Areva at the company’s facilities in Virginia and France.

The project is part of Areva’s “Forward Alliance” program, which offers nuclear utilities a range of products to reinforce long-term operation of their nuclear power plants.
