Babcock & Wilcox Co.’s (B&W, NYSE:BWC) subsidiary, Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group Inc. (B&W PGG), will design and manufacture a supercritical coal-fired boiler and selective catalytic reduction system (SCR) for Vietnam's Duyen Hai 3 Extension power plant.

The contract was awarded by Japanese contractor, Sumitomo Corp., who will build the 688-MW plant for Power Generation Corp. 1, a subsidiary of Electricity Vietnam (EVN).
“This is B&W’s sixth steam generator in Vietnam and we are pleased to contribute to the nation’s energy needs,” said Elias Gedeon, senior vice president and chief business development officer, B&W.
The plant is expected to reach commercial operations mid-2018.
