The El Paso Electric Company Board of Directors has announced that Mary Kipp, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, has been appointed as President of El Paso Electric. Working collaboratively with CEO Thomas Shockley, Kipp will oversee the company’s overall operations.
As reported by BusinessWire, Kipp was born in El Paso and has six generations of family history in the region. Starting with El Paso Electric in 2007, she has held many positions and overseen multiple departments at the company including regulatory and rates, human resources, external affairs, public relations, and environmental health and safety. Prior to joining the company, Kipp was an attorney in the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s Office of Enforcement in Washington, DC.
Kipp received a Bachelor of Arts from Williams College, a Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law, and is also an alumnus of Exeter College at the University of Oxford. She is active in a number of community organizations including the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce, Executive Women in Energy, the Paso del Norte Health Foundation, and Borderplex Binational Economic Alliance.
