Capstone Turbine Corp. has landed multiple contracts with E-Finity Distributed Generation to supply microturbines, totaling about 4-MW, for oil and gas operations in the Marcellus and Utica Shale regions.
The Marcellus natural gas area is the largest source of natural gas in the U.S. encompassing 104,000 square miles, Capstone said.
The regions will each have two C600 Capstone power packages, providing primary and backup power. Capstone will also provide maintenance.
In addition, E-Finity also selected the C800 power package for a new compression facility, providing the site with primary power and a spare engine for a spinning reserve.
Microturbines supplied by Capstone will reduce emissions generated from the generators and increase onsite power production.
Capstone also signed a contract with a new customer for four Capstone C65s to operate a new compressor station and six additional C65s to operate three interconnect sites where gas will enter the wet gas system. The new customer, who was not named, wants to create a midstream system to move wet gas from the Utica Shale in Ohio to processing facilities along the Ohio River in West Virginia.
Capstone Turbine Corp. is a clean technology manufacturer of microturbine energy systems.
