Constellation added 38-MW of solar generation in 2013 throughout Arizona, California, Maryland, New York and the District of Columbia.
The company now has more than 164-MW of solar generation capacity in its portfolio, either operating or under construction.
In a press release, Constellation states that it has more than 58 projects and 177 installations in 10 states and the District, making the company the third-largest commercial solar developer in the U.S.
Constellation completed a 2.7-MW solar project for Owens Corning’s thermal and acoustical insulation plant in 2013. The New York facility can supply 6 percent of the plant’s annual electricity needs. The project was financed, owned and maintained by Constellation, while electricity produced was purchased by Owens Corning under a 20-year power purchase agreement.
Since 2007, Constellation solar projects have offset more than 505 million pounds of carbon dioxide.
