Sempra completes first phase of solar power project

Sempra U.S. Gas & Power Mesquite Solar 1 Arizona complete

Sempra U.S. Gas & Power completed construction of the 150 MW Mesquite Solar 1 in Arizona. The solar photovoltaic project is now operational.

Construction began in June 2011 and employed more than 450 workers. The power has been sold to Pacific Gas & Electric (NYSE: PCG) under a 20-year contract.  Future phases planned at the solar complex could produce up to 700 MW.
