Financing complete for wind energy project in Kansas

EDF Renewable Energy, formerly enXco, announced Jan. 3 that it completed tax equity financing with Bank of America Merrill Lynch for the 100.8 MW Spearville 3 wind project in Kansas on Dec. 21.

The project uses 63 GE (NYSE: GE) XLE turbines. It began commercial operations in October 2012 and is delivering output to Kansas City Light & Power (KCP&L) through a 20-year power purchase agreement. EDF Renewable Energy developed and built the project, while EDF Renewable Services will provide operations and maintenance.
