Constellation completes solar power project for PGE

Constellation has announced the completion of a 5.7 MW solar power project for Portland General Electric (PGE). Electricity generated from the solar farm, located in Lake County, Ore., will be purchased at a fixed rate by PGE under a 25-year power purchase agreement.

The project was financed by Constellation, which will also own and operate the system. It was co-developed by Obsidian Finance Group and Smart Energy Capital. Belectric Inc. provided engineering, procurement, construction services and construction financing before the project was acquired by Consteallation, and will provide operations and maintenance services for the project.

More than 20,000 photovoltaic panels are used in the system, which is expected to generate around 10 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.
