Westinghouse extends nuclear fuel contract in Switzerland

Westinghouse Electric Co. extended its contract with Kernkraftwerk Leibstadt AG for the manufacturing and delivery of reload nuclear fuel to a nuclear power plant in Leibstadt, Switzerland.

Westinghouse will manufacture the fuel assemblies at its facility in Switzerland. The existing contract includes five reload deliveries from 2011-2015, but it has been extended to two additional reload deliveries in 2016 and 2017.

Westinghouse is a single-source fuel provider for 147 nuclear power plants worldwide, including pressurized water, boiling water and advanced gas-cooled reactors.
