PECO, an electric and natural gas utility subsidiary of Exelon Corporation (NYSE: EXC), completed a $7 million substation improvement project in Delaware County.

The utility installed a 138kV capacitor bank to reinforce the local electric transmission system.

Construction on the project began earlier this year and was completed at the end of November.

PECO’s transmission system provides high voltage electricity to distribution substations. The substations convert high voltage electricity from transmission lines into lower voltages for delivery to homes and businesses.
