MHI, Hitachi push back thermal power business closure date

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Hitachi said they are moving up the absorption date for their thermal power business company from January 1, 2014 to February 1, 2014.

The companies announced the merger of their thermal power businesses in July. The new company will be named Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Ltd. and will be run by Takato Nishizawa as president and CEO. MHI will own 65 percent of the business and Hitachi will own 35 percent.
