JCP&L Tewksbury Substation online

Central Power & Light's (JCP&L) Tewksbury Substation is online, providing electricity and improved service reliability to New Jersey customers.

JCP&L invested $7.3 million in the new substation, making infrastructure improvements, Jim Fakult, president of JCP&L, stated.

To better serve business and residential customers in the Tewksbury area, the substation converts high voltage from transmission lines to lower voltages. This technology can automatically switch customers to a different circuit during an outage, restoring service sooner.

JCP&L has invested more than $2 billion, since 2001, for improvements to its distribution system.
