Hyde Park Acquisition II to merge with Santa Maria Energy

Hyde Park Acquisition Corp. II (NASDAQ: HPAC), has signed an agreement and plan to merge with Santa Maria Energy Holdings LLC (SME), an independent energy company engaged in the development and production of oil and natural gas in Northern Santa Barbara County.

Hyde Park stockholders and SME's current unit holders, and affiliates of Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors, L.P., will receive stock in Santa Maria Energy Corporation, the parent company in the merger.

SME's management will oversee operations of Santa Maria Energy Corporation following the merger.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2014.
