Georgia Power has announced it is soliciting proposals through a requests for proposals process to add nearly 500 MW of utility-scale solar generation to its portfolio, including 70 MW to complete the Georgia Power Advanced Solar Initiative portfolio and 425 MW approved as part of the company’s 2013 Integrated Resource Plan.
The utility is accepting comments on the draft RFP documents through Jan. 31 and will host a conference for RFP bidders at the company’s headquarters in Atlanta on Jan. 13.
The RFT is being conducted with oversight by the Accion Group, Inc., which is serving as the independent evaluator for the process. The draft documents are available at gpasi.accionpower.com.
