Flabeg will not reopen Pa. solar mirror plant

La Huayca solar power plant

Plans to open a solar mirror manufacturing plant located near Pittsburgh, Pa. have been abandoned, and a webcast auction has been scheduled to liquidate the company’s assets.

The plant was owned by Flabeg Solar U.S. Corp, which shut the plant down last March and filed for bankruptcy. The owners had hoped to reorganize, but plans to reopen the plant fell apart in November when a Chinese mirror manufacturer failed to complete a court-approved purchase of a piece of equipment and fund a reorganization plan, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

The auction is being by Tiger Group’s Remarketing Services Division, and will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 17. Equipment is available for preview on Dec. 14 and 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. eastern standard time. A full description of the offering and details on how to schedule a site visit and bid are available at www.SoldTiger.com.
