EDF Renewable Energy sells 50% stake in Texas wind energy project

EDF Renewable Energy and UBS International Infrastructure Fund signed a definitive agreement in which UBS will acquire a 50 percent equity stake in the 161 MW Spinning Spur II wind energy project in Texas. The deal is subject to completion of construction and customary conditions precedent.

Construction began on the project in June 2013 with an expected completion date of July 1, 2014. The wind project will use 87 GE (NYSE: GE) 1.85 MW wind turbines and will connect to the grid through the Competitive Renewable Energy Zone (CREZ).
