APR Energy to provide mobile gas turbines in Angola

Florida-based APR Energy has signed a contract to provide a 40 MW fast track natural gas-fired power plant in Angola.

The one-year contract will provide APR’s turnkey solution and GE’s (NYSE: GE) mobile gas turbines. The plant will use two of the four non-contracted mobile gas turbines acquired from GE’s power rental business in October. The plant is expected to begin operations in early 2014.

This latest contract brings APR’s total footprint in Angola to 80 MW, and supplements an existing 40 MW contract for diesel power modules.
