Acciona sells 18 wind farms

Tymien wind power farm Poland

Acciona SA will sell 18 German wind farms to counter cuts in renewable energy payments.

The wind farms will be sold to Swisspower Renewables AG for $215 million.

Acciona, one of the largest wind operators in Spain, released a statement noting that the company will divest farms in Lower Saxony and Brandenburg with a combined capacity of 150.3 MW.

The sale comes after Spain placed a 7 percent tax on electricity production and released plans to limit payments to clean-power generators, according to Bloomberg.
