Vestas appoints new president and chief executive officer

Vestas Wind Systems names new president and chief executive officer CEO Anders Runevad Ditlev Engel resigns

Vestas Wind Systems has appointed Anders Runevad as president and chief executive officer, replacing Ditlev Engel, who has left the company.

Runevad, who was previously Ericsson president of west and central Europe, will take over as president and CEO on Sept. 1. Vestas Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Marika Fredriksson will assume the position of acting president and CEO until that time.

According to Vestas Chairman of the Board of Directors Bert Nordberg, the company’s restructuring program has resulted in the company becoming more competitive, and Runevad brings the needed experience to help the company realize its growth potential moving forward.
