Siemens to supply wind energy turbines to Washington project

Siemens to supply wind energy turbines to Tucannon River Wind Farm Washington Portland General Electric Lower Snake River Phase II

Portland General Electric (PGE) contracted Siemens Energy (NYSE: SI) to supply and install 116, 2.3 MW wind turbines at the Tucannon River Wind Farm in Washington.

The 267 MW capacity wind project, formerly known as the Lower Snake River Phase II, is expected to come online in 2015. The nacelles for the wind turbines will be manufactured at Siemens’ Hutchinson, Kan. Facility, while the rotor blades will be fabricated at Siemens’ production facility in Fort Madison, Iowa. Siemens will also service the wind projects over a five-year period.

The Tucannon River wind project will be adjacent to the 343 MW Lower Snake River Phase I project, which was completed in 2012.
