Peaking plant in Canada to receive distribution and control systems

American Electric Technologies (Nasdaq: AETI) will supply an integrated electrical protection and controls solution for a 65 MW peaking plant in Alberta, Canada. The name of the customer and terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The power distribution and control systems will provide generator synchronization, fault protection and management of power to run the plant and integrate with the grid. In addition, all operations can be run locally, from a common control and SCADA panel or remotely. The control systems are expected to be shipped in the third quarter of 2013.
