The U.S. Department of Energy announced a draft loan guarantee for up to $8 billion for innovative and advanced fossil fuel energy projects that reduce, avoid or sequester greenhouse gases (GHG) and other air pollution.

The solicitation will support new or improved fossil energy projects, such as advanced resource development and extraction, carbon capture, low-carbon power systems and efficiency improvements that reduce emissions of carbon dioxide, methane and other GHGs.
