Workers break ground at natural gas-fired power plant

Ground was broken on the 309 MW Garrison Energy Center, a natural gas-fired power plant owned by Calpine Corp. (NYSE: CPN) in Delaware.

Construction on the plant is scheduled for completion in mid-2015. Kvaerner is the general contractor on the project. A $2.5 million grant from the New Jobs Infrastructure Fund will help to fund construction of a six-mile natural gas pipeline extension to the complex.
