We Energies renews power contract with Vestas wind turbine Glacier Hills Blue Sky Green Field Byron

We Energies has awarded a four-year service and maintenance contract renewal to Vestas for a combined 309 MW of wind turbines in Wisconsin. The contract will begin near the end of 2013 and covers wind turbines at the Glacier Hills, Blue Sky Green Field and Byron Sites.

The service contract extension includes Vestas’ Active Output Management (AOM) 4000 maintenance program. The service option includes the VestasOnline surveillance system to remotely control and monitor the turbines as well as predict potential maintenance issues.

According to Chris Brown, president of Vestas’ sales and service division in the U.S. and Canada, the turbine availability at Glacier Hills is more than 99 percent in the past year and more than 98 percent at Blue Sky Green Field since 2012.
