GE to supply wind turbines for Michigan project

GE supply wind turbines Michigan Consumers Energy CMS Energy Cross Winds Energy Park

Consumers Energy, a subsidiary of CMS Energy (NYSE: CMS), signed a contract with GE (NYSE: GE) to supply 62, 1.7 MW wind turbines for the Cross Winds Energy Park in Michigan.

The project is expected to begin operations in 2014 and will have a total generating capacity of 105.4 MW. The contract must first be approved by the Michigan Public Service Commission and the project must obtain a special use permit from two townships in Tuscola County.

Construction is scheduled to begin later in 2013, and Consumers Energy said about 155 jobs will be created.
