Dresser-Rand, Honeywell team on power plant control system

Dresser-Rand (NYSE: DRC) reached an agreement with Honeywell (NYSE: HON) to combine Dresser-Rand’s centrifugal compressor knowledge with the Honeywell Experion Process Knowledge System. The combination is made to give plant managers controls not only of turbomachinery, but all plant equipment using a single integrated control platform.

As part of the agreement, Dresser-Rand will embed its proprietary anti-surge control and load sharing programs into the Honeywell Experios C300-20 controller. Along with the Experion PKS Turbomachinery Control Solution, both programs are made to deliver turbine control, compressor sutomation, compressor unit-surge protection and plant and safety controls all into a single platform.
