Chinese renewable energy projects to use GE power converters

GE’s Power Conversion business (NYSE: GE) signed a framework agreement with Guodian Longyuan Electrical Co. Ltd. to offer the Chinese market core packages for power converters.

GE will provide the packages for 1.5- and 2-MW converters to help China develop renewable energy projects. This is the third contract the companies have signed with each other.

Worldwide to date, GE has installed more than 30 GW of its low- and medium-voltage frequency converters.
