Canadian Solar to sell four power plants to BluEarth Renewables

Canadian Solar Inc. has announced that its subsidiary Canadian Solar Solutions Inc. has entered into a sales agreement with a BluEarth Renewables Inc. subsidiary for four utility-scale solar power plants valued at $217.2 million.

Under the agreement, BluEarth will acquire four plants located in Ontario with a total capacity of 38.5 MW. Construction on the four projects is expected to begin in 2013, and commercial operation is expected to commence in 2014.

Canadian Solar will provide engineering, procurement and construction services for all four facilities.
