AWEA establishes wind industry O&M best practices

The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) has published a report on recommended operations, maintenance and reliability practices for wind turbines and projects.

The report, AWEA Operation and Maintenance Recommended Practices, was compiled with input from dozens of wind operators, engineers, technicians and designers. The report focuses on eight areas: gearboxes, generators, rotors and blades, towers, data collection and reporting, balance of plant, end-of-warranty, and condition-based maintenance.
