Wind farm to help power Ohio State University

Ohio State University will purchase 50 MW of wind generated electricity from Iberdrola Renewables’ Blue Creek Wind Farm in Ohio.

The university joins FirstEnergy (NYSE: FE), which is buying 100 MW, and American Municipal Power (AMP), which is purchasing 52.16 MW. With the Ohio State contract, more than 202 MW of the project’s 304 MW have been sold under long-term agreements.

The wind project uses 152 Gamesa 2 MW wind turbines.
